Good performers in government offices to get P35,000 bonus
Heads of government departments and agencies that performed well last year will get P35,000 in so-called performance-based bonus (PBB).
Under Memorandum Circular No. 2014-4 signed by Budget Secretary Florencio B. Abad on July 24, the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Harmonization of National Government Performance Monitoring, Information and Reporting Systems said department secretaries and heads of agencies eligible for PBB “shall be granted a fixed rate of P35,000.”
The circular noted that the eligibility of the head of department or agency for such monetary reward “shall be based on the eligibility of his/her department/agency.”
This rule covers all department secretaries, heads of other executive offices and constitutional offices, as well as heads of agencies attached to a department.
According to the circular, this guideline will take effect “immediately.”

The PBB is defined as “a top-up bonus to be given to personnel of bureaus or delivery units in accordance with their contribution to the accomplishment of their department’s overall targets and commitments.”
This bonus will be given way only when the department achieves the performance targets under their respective so-called major final outputs and also their priority program/project commitments earlier approved by the President.
