Escudero: I respect Aquino’s endorsement of Roxas
Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero on Friday said he understands and respects the President’s decision to back the presidential bid of Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas in 2016
“Alam ko na hindi naging madali ang kanyang pagpasya at bilang kaibigan, nadarama ko ang hirap na kanyang pinagdaanan,” Escudero said in a statement on Friday.
(I know that he did not have an easy decision, and as a friend, I could feel the difficulty he went through.)
“Iginagalang at nauunawan ko ang kanyang pasya,” he further said.
(I respect and understand his decision.)
Aquino on Friday announced his endorsement of Roxas as the standard-bearer of the Liberal Party, even after a series of meetings with the Interior secretary, Escudero and Senator Grace to discuss the 2016 elections.

Unlike Roxas, who now accepted the President’s endorsement, Escudero and Poe have yet to publicly declare their plans for next year.
The two senators though emerged as the voters’ top choice for vice president and president, respectively, based on the latest survey conducted by Pulse Asia. IDL
