Murder complaint filed vs 5 cops in Manila ‘rubout’

A COMPLAINT for murder has been filed before the Manila Prosecutors Office against the five policemen involved in killing a tricycle driver.

Atty. Dennis Wagas of the Manila Police District (MPD) Legal Division said facing a complaint for murder are Gulod Police Community Precinct (PCP) Commander Senior Inspector Rommel Salazar, Police Officer 3 (PO3) Ferdinand Valera, PO1 Ronald Dipacina, PO1 Rhoel Landrito and PO1 Diomar Landoy.

Named complainants in the case are the victim’s brother Ericson Villarosa and the MPD.

The five were caught on a CCTV footage shooting at close range the victim, Robin Villarosa, a robbery suspect. The victim was in the act of surrendering and seen kneeling on the street and raising both his hands when he was killed. Then, one of the police officers approached the victim and planted something near his body.

Wagas also said that the MPD has already launched a manhunt operation against the five police officers.
