Businessman gunned down in Cebu City
CEBU CITY — A gunman shot and killed a businessman Tuesday morning shortly after dropping off his daughter at a school in downtown a Cebu City.
Jaime Villaceran, 36, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead upon reaching Velez Hospital on Ramos Street here.
Homicide investigator SPO4 Alex Dacua said Villaceran, who was driving his Toyota Grandia, dropped off his daughter at the University of Cebu along Osmena Boulevard at about 7:30 a.m.
Reaching the intersection on Colon Street, Villaceran stopped for a red light. Suddenly, a man on a motorcycle appeared and shot him repeatedly.
Although wounded, Villaceran was able to drive his van but hit a public utility jeepney in front of him.
Dacua said Villaceran, a resident of Barangay Lorega in Cebu City, operated a piggery and sold chicharon, made of crispy fried pork rind.
