Team MS Motosuit bags San Remigio SK hoop title

BARANGAY Calambua-Team MS Motosuit bested 26 other barangays to bag the championship title in the recent 1st Mayor Jay Olivar SK Basketball Tournament at the Poblacion Gym in San Remigio town, northern Cebu.

Team MS Motosuit capped its stellar run in the three-month tournament by sweeping barangay Mano in their best-of-three championship series.

“I’m so proud of my team. They really gave their best for our barangay,” MS Motosuit owner and Calambua barangay captain Lou Ornopia said of his 17-under squad.

MS Motosuit went undefeated in the elimination round where it swept all of its seven games. The team won all but one of its seven matches in the semis to advance to the championship round.

In the finals, MS Motosuit faced barangay Mano, the team responsible for its lone semis loss.

After taking Game 1, MS Motosuit iced the title by trashing barangay Mano in Game 2, 91-61.

John Pajantoy, nephew of Tata Ornopia, wife of Lou Ornopia, led MS Motosuit’s title-clinching win by erupting for 22 points. /EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
