A lone bettor from Quezon City is the country’s newest millionaire after he claimed his P16 million lotto jackpot prize from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO)’s main office in Mandaluyong City on Friday.

The 27-year-old social worker told PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II he would donate some of his winnings to the church, give a part of it to his parents and relatives and save the remaining for his future family.

The lucky winner claimed that his 05-11-21-24-32-42 winning combination came from the birthdate of his fiancee, which he used for the Lotto 6/49 draw last June 30.  Rojas personally turned over the check to the winner.

Rojas said the winner has been betting in Lotto for about five years now.
