Victoria Court mourns death of ‘kindest’ founder Archie King

Employees of the Victoria Court chain of motels on Monday expressed their sympathy and condolences to the family of company owner Archimedes “Archie” King, who died on Sunday when his private helicopter crashed near Mount Maculot in Cuenca, Batangas.

In a statement posted on its social media pages, Victoria Court said King was the “kindest and most compassionate leader anyone could hope to serve.”

“The Victoria Court family mourns the loss of our founder and CEO, Mr. Archie King,” the statement read. “No words can describe how deeply saddened we all are.”

Victoria Court said it has been a privilege for its staff to be able to work with the late motel tycoon.

“It’s an honor for all of us to have served and worked with a man of his stature. Our hearts and prayers go out to him and his family. May your soul rest in peace, Sir Archie,” it added.

The private chopper of 62-year-old King crashed at about 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, killing him and pilot Felicisimo Esteban Taborlupa Jr.

Six other people were injured in the crash, namely King’s wife, Ling-ling; Inquirer Lifestyle columnist Anton San Diego; renowned bag designer Tina Maristela Ocampo and her husband, fashion retail businessman Ricco; Standard Insurance CEO Patricia Chilip and her businessman husband Christopher.
