One of the so-called “Bilibid 19” inmates at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Thursday died of colon cancer, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said.

George Sy, a Chinese national, faced a punishment of reclusion perpetua or up to 40 years imprisonment for his involvement in illegal drug trade.

Sy was confined at the Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital from May 12.
