One of ‘Bilibid 19’ inmates dies of colon cancer

One of the so-called “Bilibid 19” inmates at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Thursday died of colon cancer, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said.

George Sy, a Chinese national, faced a punishment of reclusion perpetua or up to 40 years imprisonment for his involvement in illegal drug trade.

Sy was confined at the Jose Reyes Memorial Hospital from May 12.

Sy was detained at the NBI from December last year following a raid inside Bilibid that yielded illegal drugs, posh appliances and gadgets.
