San Andres, Manila fire leaves 60 families homeless

At least 60 families were displaced after a fire razed a residential area in San Andres, Manila on Friday night.

Senior Fire Officer 4 John Joseph Jalique of the Manila Fire Department said the fire engulfed rows of houses at the corner of Onyx and Dagonoy streets at 8:45 p.m.

Jalique said the fire spread quickly and reached fifth alarm at 9:21 p.m. before it was put out at 12:41 a.m., Saturday.

He said the estimated damage caused by the fire amounted to P500, 000.

He said no one has come to their office to corroborate reports that there were residents who got injured due to the blaze.

Reports said the fire was caused by faulty electrical wirings but Jalique said the Manila Fire Department is still conducting an investigation. IDL
