/ 01:42 AM June 26, 2015

A 15-year-old boy on a bike sustained head injuries in a hit-and-run incident in Taguig City early Thursday. The victim was identified as Randel Delos Reyes, a Grade 10 student at Sen. Rene Cayetano Science and Technology High School in Barangay Ususan.

Police reports showed that the boy was on his way to school riding a bicycle on C-5 Road near a Petron gas station in Diego Silang around 6:45 a.m. when a van hit him.

He hit the pavement head first, said George Tizon, operations chief of the Department of Education’s Taguig-Pateros office, which is coordinating with the city government regarding medical assistance for the victim.

There were conflicting accounts regarding the model of the vehicle, but Tizon said the boy gave the plate number NIQ-764, while witnesses remembered it as UIQ-764.
