Jones, Isabela vice mayor, security aide gunned down in municipal hall

Two unidentified gunmen shot to death the vice mayor of Jones town, Isabela province and a security aide during a meeting inside the municipal building on Friday morning.

A report from the Isabela Provincial Police office said Vice Mayor Florante Raspado died instantly when assailants barged into the session hall where he and seven municipal councilors were meeting around 11 a.m.

The gunmen also shot and killed the still unidentified security aide of Councilor Lanie Uy.

After gunning down Raspado and the aide, the attackers fled to Quirino province.

Personnel of Jones Police Station are still conducting pursuit operation to arrest the two suspects. IDL
