The Philippine National Police will be conducting an inspection of all of its buildings at its headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City, after a fire hit one of its offices on Sunday night.
NP officer in charge Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina said on Monday that he had ordered the mandatory check as a precaution. On Sunday night, the old Internal Affairs Service (IAS) building inside the camp caught fire for still unknown reasons although the flames were put out more than an hour later.
No important documents were lost in the fire because all records had already been transferred to the new IAS building. The IAS investigates complaints against policemen and pursues administrative cases against them.
