Thunderstorms hit Metro Manila, nearby provinces

HEAVY downpour has been affecting parts of Metro Manila and other nearby provinces in Luzon since early Monday afternoon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued a thunderstorm advisory in Metro Manila (San Juan, Manila, portion of Quezon City) and Quezon Province (Lucena), Bataan (Morong and Bagac) as well as portions of Rizal, Batangas, Cavite Zambales, Bulacan and Laguna at 2:31p.m.

The thunderstorms are expected in the next two hours, Pagasa said.

The weather bureau warned the public against heavy rains, strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods.
