Woman kills housemate over debt
GEORGE TOWN, Malaysia — Over a RM8,000 (P96,700) debt, an Indonesian woman allegedly killed her 38-year-old housemate and dumped the body in Pearl Hill, Tanjung Bungah.
The housemate died after the 28-year-old woman allegedly bashed her head against the wall during a quarrel at their flat on May 9.
The woman, a chicken rice stall worker, placed the body in a cardboard box before hiring a lorry and driver to dump it in Pearl Hill.
Assistant Commissioner Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the woman was arrested at her workplace in Tanjung Bungah at about 1 p.m. on Saturday, eight days after the discovery of the body.
“We were not able to determine the victim’s identity as the body was too decomposed, but after a photo of a bracelet worn by her was released, a few friends and her employer came in to assist in investigations,” he said.
The officer said the murder took place at their flat in Tanjung Bungah as traces of blood were found there, adding that police were still looking for the man who helped the suspect dump the body.
