A 6.0-magnitude earthquake shook Sabah on Friday morning, US geologists said.

The quake’s epicenter was 12 kilometers west northwest of Ranau in Malaysia and had a depth of 10 kilometers, the US Geological Survey said.

The quake was recorded at 7:15a.m.

Malaysia’s The Star reported that no tsunami warning was issued from the quake.

Apart from the state capital, the tremors were felt in the northern Kudat and Kota Marudu districts, and as far away as Beaufort in the south, the report said.

The tremors were so strong  that it shook buildings and windows, which prompted the people to run outdoors.
