Chinese held at Naia

/ 01:52 AM June 04, 2015

A Chinese man facing arrest for violating the Intellectual Property Code was prevented from leaving the country on Monday.

According to Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) director Chief Supt. Pablo Francisco Balagtas, Detian Chen was supposed to board a Xiamen Air flight for Quanzhou, when he was stopped at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

This was after airport personnel found his name on the Bureau of Immigration’s alert list. A check showed that a warrant had been issued for Chen’s arrest by the San Fernando, Pampanga Regional Trial Court Branch 42 after he was charged with violating intellectual property rights.

Chen was turned over to the intelligence and investigation section of the Avsegroup National Capital Region pending his presentation to the court.
