SENATOR Grace Poe on Tuesday turned the tables on Senator Nancy Binay, saying that the latter’s father should clear the air about the allegations being hurled at him.

Poe said, apparently referring to Binay’s father, Vice President Jejomar Binay.

(Does it mean that he would not answer or face all allegations against him just because he believes these were politically motivated?)

(He owes us an explanation.)

She made the remarks when sought to comment on Senator Binay’s tirades that some of those who signed a committee report against her father, Vice President Jejomar Binay, should admit their “personal motives.”

Poe was among the 10 senators who signed the report of the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee that recommended the filing of plunder charges, among others, against the Vice President, son Makati Mayor Junjun Binay and other personalities involved in the alleged overpricing of the Makati City Hall 2 parking building.

Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero, who also signed the report, echoed Poe’s statement, saying that as Vice President, Binay owed it to the public to answer the allegations.

(He owes it to us to answer and explain it, I’ve said that before   and he should not hide under the skirt or by simply saying that those behind this   have personal motives.)

(The questions were clear that even came from one agency of the government AMLC, and from the Court of Appeals. This is not just a simple accusation by his political rivals.

AMLC is Anti-Money Laundering Council that requested the Court of Appeals to freeze the bank accounts of Binay, some family members and his alleged dummies in connection with the Ombudsman’s investigation on the parking building controversy.

Besides, Escudero pointed out that the Vice President himself had said he wanted to answer the allegations in court after he refused to face his accusers at the Senate.

“Hindi ba siya ang nag-request mismo na bigyan siya ng pagkakataong sumagot sa tamang forum, in the proper forum, ’ika nga, yon yung binigay sa kanya ng sub-committee,” he further said.  AC
