A female tricycle driver in Pasay City ended up in the hospital on Monday after she was shot by a robbery suspect who thought she was a police informant.

The police said Julie Ann  Luberia sustained gunshot wounds in the forearm and shoulder. Her attacker, identified as Jerome Roldan, fled after the shooting which happened at 4:30 a.m. on P. Manahan Street, in Barangay 130, Pasay City.

A report signed by Pasay police chief Senior Supt. Joel Doria said that the suspect grabbed the victim’s cell phone when he noticed that the victim kept on looking at him and his friends who were drinking.

When he found the phone numbers of several Pasay police officers listed in her directory, he shot her in the belief that she was spying on him. A check of police records showed that Roldan was involved in several robbery-holdup cases in the area.–With Maricar Brizuela, and Jheia Lindhelle Paned, trainee
