45 confirmed dead in Valenzuela factory fire

The death toll from the slipper factory of Kentex Manufacturing Inc. in Valenzuela City, which was gutted by fire on Wednesday morning has risen to 45.

Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian, in a televised press briefing, said 42 more remains of workers trapped inside the factory were retrieved Thursday morning.

Gatchalian said three people were earlier retrieved from the factory on Wednesday.
