Senator Lito Lapid on Tuesday vowed to support Senator Grace Poe should the latter decide to run either for president or vice president in 2016.
“Syempre Fernando Poe ‘yan, ang laki ng utang na loob namin d’yan,” Lapid said in a rare interview at the Senate.
(Of course, she is Fernando Poe Jr.’s (daughter), and we are indebted to him.)

“Kahit saan s’ya susuportahan namin s’ya (Whatever path she chooses, we will support her),” added Lapid, who’s term in the Senate will expire in 2016.
But Poe, who is serving her first six-year term in the Senate, has yet to decide whether or not to run for a higher post in the upcoming elections.
Lapid said detained Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. would have been the standard-bearer of Lakas but the latter has been charged with plunder and is currently detained in connection with the “pork barrel” scam. Revilla is chairman of Lakas.
Also charged and detained in connection with the scam are Senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada. IDL
