BIKE RAMS POST, DRIVER KILLED

A MAN was killed after the motorcycle he was driving rammed a concrete electric post along Natalio Bacalso Avenue, Cebu City, yesterday morning.

Norbert Tecson, 28, of barangay Lahug, Cebu City, died on the spot.

His backrider, Perry Van Tecson, 35, of barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City, was injured.

Police said the two men were headed for Talisay City when they met the accident.

Tecson lost control of the motorbike, which hit  an electric post near the Holy Cross Church.

The two men were thrown off the motorcycle several meters away from the point of impact.

In a separate incident, an employee of the Toledo City government was killed after his motorcycle crashed in barangay Ibo, Toledo City, yesterday dawn.

Oscar Rubin, 43, of barangay Bato, Toledo City, was declared dead when he was  rushed to a nearby hospital.

SPO3 Carmelito Hornalez of the Toledo City police said the motorcycle was running at high speed when Rubin lost control of the vehicle.

The motorcycle hit the metal railings at the side of the road, throwing Rubin off the motorcycle./CORRESPONDENTS CHITO O. ARAGON AND GABRIEL C. BONJOC

WANTED MAN NABBED

A MAN wanted on  drug charges was arrested by police in his home in barangay barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.

Alex Omolon, 52, had been in hiding for a year.

Police finally caught up with him last Friday afternoon in sitio Utlanan.

Omolon was the subject of  an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Marilyn Yap of Branch 28.

Police said Omolon was a level 2 drug pusher who could dispose of at least 200 grams of shabu a week./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
