Typhoon ‘Dodong’ (international name ‘Noul’) is seen to make landfall in Isabela on Sunday if it continues its track, Panahon TV said on Thursday.

Dodong is expected to affect Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to its size, which was measured at 400 kilometers in diameter.

By Saturday, it is expected to pass close to Bicol and Samar provinces.

Dodong slightly intensified midday Thursday with maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 170 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said at 11a.m.

The typhoon was last spotted 925 kilometers east northeast of Surigao City. It moved faster at 17 kph west northwest.

Heavy to intense rain is expected within the typhoon’s area of circulation. In the next 24 to 36 hours, rains are expected in eastern Visayas and Bicol.
