Typhoon ‘Dodong’ enters PAR
Typhoon ‘Dodong’ (Noul) entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) early Thursday, the state weather bureau said.
The typhoon packed maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 160 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in a bulletin.
Dodong, which entered PAR at 4a.m., accelerated further at 15 kph west northwest.
The typhoon was last spotted 1,040 kilometers east of Surigao City.
No storm signals were raised but Dodong is expected to affect the eastern section of Visayas in the next 24 hours.
