Iloilo village chief in critical condition following ambush
ILOILO CITY—A village chief in Lambunao town, Iloilo, is in critical condition after he was shot by one of two men riding a motorcycle on Thursday morning.
Raul Ganadillo, village chief of Pandan in Lambunao, was driving his jeepney without a top when he was shot on the left side of his body at about 10 a.m. in Barangay Tranghawan, Lambunao, in central Iloilo.
The perpetrators who were on board an XRM motorcycle sped off toward the adjacent Calinog town.
Ganadillo was rushed to the Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial District Hospital in Lambunao where he remained in critical condition.
The police had yet to establish the motive of the shooting.
But SPO1 Eduardo Lesandra said Ganadillo filed a case of illegal possession of firearms against a resident of his barangay which was still pending in court.
