MANILA, Philippines – The Batangas Port, Lucena Port, Puerto Real Port, Calapan City Port (Oriental Mindoro), and Abra de Ilog Port (Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro) suspended the trips of vessels carrying cargo below 1,000 tons, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Saturday.

Three hundred twenty-two were also stranded in Aparri, Lucena, Mamburao, Puerto Real and Batangas coast guard stations, it added.

Philippine National Police’s Special Action Force and Northern Luzon Command’s 86th and 54th infantry battalions were deployed to aid in rescue operations, it said.

Department of Public Works and Highways in Cordillera Administrative Region has activated its operations center and their district disaster action teams for immediate road clearing operations, the NDRRMC said.
