3 more SC justices inhibit from Junjun Binay case
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines—Three more Supreme Court (SC) justices inhibited from handling the petition of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales that questioned the validity of the Court of Appeals issuance of a writ of preliminary injunction that stopped the implementation of the six months suspension of Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay.
Associate Justices Presbitero J. Velasco Jr., Arturo D. Brion and Francis H. Jardeleza inhibited from the case.
“The [justices] voluntarily inhibited themselves from further participation in the case,” high court’s information chief Theodore Te said at a press conference.
Earlier, Associate Justice Diosdado M. Peralta recused himself from the case. RC
