AFP 99.9% certain Kato is dead

The Armed Forces of the Philippines is certain that Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters Ameril Umbra Kato is dead.
“Masabi natin na 99.9 percent sure na sya ay namatay dahil mismong [Moro Islamic Liberation Front] ang nagsabi. Maging yung pamangkin ni Umbra Kato na isang MILF commander,” Armed Forces Public Affairs Office chief Lieutenant Colonel Harold Cabunoc told reporters at Camp Aguinaldo on Tuesday.
However, they are still waiting for photos to confirm Kato’s death. The BIFF leader has been reported dead twice in the past.
“Dahil sa mga pangyayari nung mga nakaraan na meron nag-report na nasawi nga siya ngunit buhay naman e buhay naman pala, so once and for all ay dapat meron tayong kumpirmasyon at mismong picture na magpapatunay,” Cabunoc said.
He said they have received reports that Kato was buried immediately in accordance to Islamic traditions.
