The Armed Forces of the Philippines is certain that Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters Ameril Umbra Kato is dead.

However, they are still waiting for photos to confirm Kato’s death. The BIFF leader has been reported dead twice in the past.

“Dahil sa mga pangyayari nung mga nakaraan na meron nag-report na nasawi nga siya ngunit buhay naman e buhay naman pala, so once and for all ay dapat meron tayong kumpirmasyon at mismong picture na magpapatunay,” Cabunoc said.

He said they have received reports that Kato was buried immediately in accordance to Islamic traditions.

Kato reportedly died at 2 a.m. Tuesday from cardiac arrest based on several sources including the MILF and local government officials and residents, Cabunoc said. AC
