Salvador takes 2nd-round lead in sherwood golf

ELMER Salvador finished the second round with a bogey-free performance and ended up with a five-under 67 to lead the way in the ICTSI Sherwood Hills Classic at the Sherwood Hills Golf and Country Club in Cavite.

Salvador now has a four-stroke lead over Cassius Casas.

Salvador outgunned veteran Asian Tour campaigner and erstwhile joint leader Mars Pucay with three birdies at the front then added two more coming home to become the first player in recent memory to preserve a bogey-free stint throughout 36 holes.

Casas birdied three of his last 11 holes in scorching heat to shoot that 69 and assume the challenger’s role at 139.  Correspondent Jonas Panerio
