Fire hits parts of Manila, Quezon City, NLEx
Two days after the end of Fire Prevention Month and during the observance of the Lenten season, fire razed residential areas in Manila and Quezon City and a grassy lot near the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) on Thursday.
A grass fire sparked at the back of Petron station in Balagtas, Bulacan, at around 2 p.m. The said fire hampered the visibility of motorists plying the southbound lane of NLEx.
The fire was declared out at 2:28 p.m., according to NLEx spokesperson Francisco Dagohoy.
Meanwhile, two areas in Quezon City and Manila were also hit by fire.
A fire razed a house at Riverside, Barangay (village) Commonwealth in Quezon City and was placed under first alarm. By 2:25 p.m, the fire was declared out by authorities.
A residential area in Lamayan Street in Sta. Ana, Manila, was ravaged by fire on Thursday afternoon that reached second alarm. By 4:16 p.m, the fire in the said area had been extinguished completely.
