This Holy Week, Senator Nancy Binay is praying for unity and genuine forgiveness.
In her Lenten message on Wednesday, Binay urged the nation to reflect and “reconnect” with Jesus Christ, reminding everyone of the Lord’s sacrifice and death “so that we can all be cleansed from our sins.”
“Ang Semana Santa ay isang panahon ng pagtitika at pagmumumi-muni sa ating mga nagawa para sa ating mga kapamilya, kaibigan at kababayan,” she said in a statement.
“As we reflect on our acts, let us also reconnect with our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and His passion and death on the Cross. He sacrificed Himself and died so that we can all be cleansed from our sins,” said the senator.

Binay said, “We can find the suffering Christ in each of us, with every Filipino who carries a piece of the Cross – of ailing and broken spirits, and those who feel of lost hopes and dreams.”
The senator also hopes that this Lenten season, the people’s faith and hope would be restored.
“Nawa’y maging sandigan tayo ng bawat isa ngayong Semana Santa, upang maipanumbalik ang sigla at pag-asa sa puso at isipan ng bawat Filipino,” she said.
“Hayaan nating palakasin ng mensahe ng Semana Santa ang ating pananampalataya sa Kanya at sa bawat isa sa pamamagitan ng pagiging aktibo sa ating lipunan at Simbahan, upang makamit natin ang tunay na pagpapatawad at pagkakaisa,” Binay added.
Binay’s father, Vice President Jejomar Binay, has been hogging the headlines over corruption allegations when he was still the mayor of Makati City.
The limelight, however, is now focused on her brother, Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay, who has been fighting for his post even after the Court of Appeals issued a temporary restraining order on the preventive suspension order by the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with the allegedly anomalous Makati City Hall 2 parking building.
