The Sandiganbayan Fifth Division allowed detained Senator Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada to leave detention so that he could have his shoulder in pain checked at a hospital in San Juan City.

In a resolution promulgated Wednesday, the antigraft court gave Estrada three hours on the same day to go to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in Greenhills from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The court resolved to grant Estrada’s request over the prosecution’s opposition.

The court required the same setup for the senator to shoulder the expenses of the trip and the police securing the checkup. Media interviews are also not allowed.

The lawmaker detained for plunder over the pork barrel scam said his frozen shoulders were the subject of a therapy session the court granted last year. IDL
