Fire destroys 27 homes in Zamboanga City dumpsite

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Twenty-seven houses were razed during a fire at the dumpsite in Barangay (village) Lumbangan here Wednesday.

Superintendent Dominador Zabala Jr., the city fire marshal, said the fire of still unknown origin raged for about three hours and displaced 27 families.

Zabala said the houses were made of light materials.

No one was reported injured.

Since January this year, Zabala said a total of 29 fires had been recorded in the city with property losses reaching P3.75 million.

Two civilian casualties had been recorded in the fires since the start of the year. SFM
