Aquino appoints new COA chair
MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III has appointed Atty. Michael G. Aguinaldo as the new chairman of the Commission on Audit, Malacañang said Wednesday.
Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said the appointment was made on March 24 (Tuesday).
Aguinaldo, who was the Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs before his appointment, will serve as COA chairman until February 2, 2022, according to the document signed by Aquino.
He replaced Grace Pulido-Tan who retired last February.

A letter to the Commission on Appointments was also delivered on Tuesday.
“An early confirmation of his appointment will be highly appreciated,” the President wrote.
Aguinaldo was Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs since May 2011. Before that he was a member of the executive committee of the Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & de los Angeles law firm (1994-2011), and a professor at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law (since 1994).
