MANILA, Philippines – The number of Filipinos who want President Benigno Aquino III to stay in power outnumber that of those who want him to resign, a Pulse Asia survey revealed.
The poll showed that 42 percent of the 1,200 respondents disagree with those calling for the resignation of Aquino, despite his being heavily criticized for the Mamasapano debacle and receiving his lowest approval ratings yet.

Meanwhile, 29 percent said they agreed that the President should resign while 28 percent are undecided.

“Public opinion is split three-ways in the Visayas, with 36% being ambivalent on the matter, 34% opposing calls for the President’s resignation now, and 29% supporting such calls,” Pulse Asia said in a release.
In Mindanao, more people expressed disagreement (39 percent) or indecision (34 percent) than agreement with his resignation (26 percent).
