MANILA, Philippines – The state weather bureau stopped issuing severe weather bulletins on tropical depression “Betty” (international name “Bavi”) after it weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) early Thursday.

Nonetheless, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) cautioned fisher folk and sea travelers about venturing into the eastern seaboard of Luzon because of moderate to rough seas.

In its 4 a.m. advisory, Pagasa said the LPA was last observed 885 kilometers east of Casiguran in Aurora.

The whole country will experience partly cloudy to at times cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said..

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the eastern section of Luzon and the coastal waters along this area will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate blowing from the northeast with slight to moderate seas.
