Today, March 17, is the 58th death anniversary of former President Ramon Magsaysay. Born on Aug. 31, 1907, he served as Zambales representative and defense secretary before being elected President in 1953. In 1957, the Presidential Plane, Mt. Pinatubo, crashed into Mt. Manunggal in Cebu, killing him and 24 others. Magsaysay was buried at Manila North Cemetery. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
