MANILA, Philippines – Makati Mayor Junjun Binay’s petition seeking to nullify the Office of the Ombudsman’s suspension order against him was raffled off to a division of the Court of Appeals (CA) on Friday.

The 24-page petition, which also seeks a temporary restraining order (TRO) against Binay’s six-month suspension, was raffled off to the Sixth Division with Associate Justice Jose Reyes as ponente.

A resolution on the TRO request is expected Friday afternoon.

Binay, who is facing graft and malversation charges, has insisted that he will not leave Makati City Hall until the CA decides on the petition. KS
