Metro Manila enjoying last days of cold mornings

MANILA, Philippines — Enjoy it while it lasts.
The country may be approaching dry season but the temperature still dropped to 19 degrees on Monday morning, the weather bureau said.
Alvin Pura, forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said it was not unusual even if the northeast monsoon had started to weaken.
A temperature of 19 degrees Celsius was recorded at 6:10a.m. at the Pagasa Science Garden in Quezon City.
The lowest temperature recorded in Metro Manila when the northeast monsoon began in October last year was at 18 degrees Celsius last February 3.
The northeast monsoon will likely prevail until the second week of March and cold mornings would still be normal until the dry season begins.
The easterlies, or warm winds from the east, prevail during the dry season.
