Manila traffic rerouted Feb. 23-March 2
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes from Feb. 23 to March 2 when portions of the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard—starting from Katigbak Drive to T.M. Kalaw Street—will be closed to traffic to give way to the Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2015. Heavy vehicles coming from Pier Zone intending to use this lane should turn left on P. Burgos Street, right on Maria Orosa Street, then right on TM Kalaw before proceeding to their destinations. A portion of Rizal Park will likewise be closed off to traffic during the event as a special racetrack and stadium will be built in the area to allow the public to watch and participate in the event. Shell Eco-marathon Asia is a competition of environment-friendly cars invented by engineering students from all over the region. Over 1,000 delegates and visitors from abroad and an estimated crowd of over 40,000 are expected to witness the event. Last year, the car tilt drew 33,000 visitors.
