MANILA, Philippines–Operations of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) were temporarily halted Wednesday noon after one of its trains stalled at the Santolan Station in Mandaluyong.
Passengers got stranded at around 12:20 pm after the train operator asked the passengers to get off a southbound MRT train after a technical glitch hit the train.
It wasn’t clear, however, what the technical glitch was.
Operations resumed after a few minutes.
In a press briefing Tuesday, MRT general manager Roman Buenafe said technical glitches on the MRT trains are bound to happen due to the aging of the trains and poor condition of the railways.
On Tuesday, three separate technical malfunctions hit MRT’s trains.
