MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) thanked Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV for facilitating the inclusion of P18-million in the 2015 national budget for the construction, repair and rehabilitation of the buildings of the agency’s regional offices.
“The PDEA will forever treasure such generosity as we continuously fulfill our mission as the lead agency in the national anti-drug campaign,” said PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. in a letter to Trillanes dated February 10.
The allotment will cover the rehabilitation projects of PDEA regional offices in San Fernando, La Union; Tuguegarao City, Cagayan; San Fernando City, Pampanga; Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro; Legazpi City, Albay; Lahug, Cebu City; Cagayan de Oro City; La Trinidad, Benguet; and Libertad, Butuan City.
Each regional office will receive P2 million for the rehabilitation project.
Cacdac said the PDEA’s bids and awards committee would initiate the bidding process for the projects in accordance with Republic Act 9184 or the Government Procurement Reform Act.
“We are fortunate that we have a legislator like Sen. Trillanes who is very supportive in the war against illegal drugs. The new structures and improvements in our regional offices will truly boost the morale of our personnel,” the official said.
