MANILA, Philippines – The National Police Commission (Napolcom) will be activating its online scheduling system for the Philippine National Police (PNP) entrance and promotional exams in April this year.
The On-Line Examination Application Scheduling System (OLEASS) will be up on the websites www.napolcom.gov.ph or www.napolcom-oleass.com from February 16 to 20 for the entrance exams and on February 23 to 27 for the promotional exams.
The PNP will be holding the two exams on April 26, 2015, as applicants may file their documents from March 2 to 27.
The OLEASS organizes the scheduling of the processing of exam applications at the Napolcom office in Metro Manila and in 16 regional offices nationwide.
Napolcom vice chairperson and executive officer Eduardo Escueta said the system would be open starting midnight of February 16 for the entrance exam and midnight of February 23 for the promotional test.
Acceptance of applications is on a “first come, first served” basis and may be stopped even ahead of deadline after due notice. This is because the regional offices have the right to limit the number of examinees they will accommodate.
“The examination center where the applicant shall take the exam is automatically assigned by the computer system, based on the home address or unit of assignment of the applicant,” Escueta said.
Only applicants with a confirmed scheduled appointment and reference number will be entertained.
The PNP entrance examination is open to all Filipinos not more than 30 years old, with a bachelor’s degree, and at least 1.57 meters in height for females and 1.62 meters in height for males
Policemen with the rank of Police Officer 1 (PO1) whose appointments are temporary due to lack of appropriate eligibility are also required to take the PNP entrance examination.
The PNP promotional examinations are open to all qualified PNP uniformed members who meet the minimum qualification standards for examination in terms of rank and eligibility.
Application forms and index cards are available at Napolcom regional offices or can be downloaded from www.napolcom.gov.ph.
Civilian applicants must bring the printed letter-reply with the corresponding reference number confirming the scheduled appointment; two recent, identical and colored 1” x 1” photos with white background and complete name tag; a legal size window envelope with P15 worth of mailing stamp;
Diploma or transcript of scholastic record with special order issued by the Commission on Higher Education or diploma; and birth certificate issued by the local civil registrar or the National Statistics Office.
For a PO1 applicant with temporary appointment, a certified true copy of attested appointment, plantilla appointment or special order is also required .
or submission.
Applicants for the promotional examinations should also submit the first three aforementioned requirements, a certified true copy of attested appointment, plantilla appointment or PNP absorption order; and a report of rating or certification issued by the Napolcom central office, certificate of eligibility from the Civil Service Commission or a board certificate from the Professional Regulation Commission.
Only duly accomplished application forms with complete documents filed personally and received by the Napolcom regional office before the deadline for filing will be accepted. Applications through postal mail will not be processed.
Applicants who previously failed in the examinations and decided to apply again for the same test category in the same exam center need to only submit the admission slip of the last exam applied for; fill out a new application form and index card with ID pictures; and pay the examination fee.
The examination fee is P400 for the PNP entrance and police officer examinations; P450 for senior police officer examination; P500 for police inspector examination; and P600 for police superintendent examination.
The PNP entrance examination covers general information, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and logical reasoning while the promotional examinations cover general information, police administration and operations, and police customs and traditions, values, ethical standards and the Performance Governance System.
The Napolcom warned civilians against cheating, as this will permanently bar them from taking the entrance examinations. On the other hand, policeman found cheating will be charge with dishonesty which is punishable with dismissal.
