AMERICAN’S HOME BURGLARIZED

VALUABLES worth at least P100,000 were stolen by unidentified thieves who ransacked the rented house of an American national in barangay Banilad, Cebu City, last Monday night.

Jeffrey Robert Newman, 32, told police that the thieves may have entered the house through a sliding glass window of  the dining room that was  left unlocked.

The American had been renting the house at  Sto. Niño Village for one year, said police.

Newman said  he arrived home around 8 p.m. and discovered that some things were missing.

He lost a laptop worth P24,000, an iPhone, two DVD players,  a projector,  a PlayStation, camera and other small items.

MANDAUE WORKER FOUND DEAD

A JOB-ORDER employee of Mandaue City was found dead along a shoreline in barangay Labogon on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said Arnulfo Sabornido, 64, had been missing since Sunday afternoon.

The man went to the shore to gather seashells but failed to return home.

Sabornido was assigned at the Department of General Services of the Mandaue City Hall.

Police said further investigation will be made to determine if there was foul play involved in the man’s death./REPORTER JUCELL MARIE P. CUYOS

’BASAG KOTSE’ GANG STRIKES

THIEVES preying on parked vehicles struck again in barangay Banilad, Mandaue City, on  Tuesday afternoon.

They  smashed the side window of a Toyota Innova van and took  a wallet with  P700 that belonged to  American national John Hallman, 59, of barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

Hallman and his wife Emilda parked their van  with plate number YGB-804 in front of a store on A.S. Fortuna Street where they made some purchases.

BOY SHOT, HURT IN LAPU-LAPU

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was shot in the arm by an unidentified man in barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City, last Tuesday night.

The wounded boy ran home before he was brought to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital.

The boy was shot while he and his friends were walking along the road.
