MANILA, Philippines—A businessman from Northern Samar province got more than enough fresh capital for expansion, after winning the almost P150-million jackpot in Monday’s GrandLotto 6/55 draw.
The lone winner claimed his winnings, totaling P149,017,432, at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday, said PCSO acting chair and general manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II.
The 41-year-old father of three, who has been playing the state lottery for the past two decades, finally picked the lucky combination 34-15-27-04-03-39 in the Feb. 2 draw.
The businessman said he would use the money to expand his current enterprise, build apartments and possibly buy a house and lot in Metro Manila for his family, Rojas added.
The 6/55 jackpot reached almost P150 million since no bettor had picked the winning combination in the past 29 draws, starting Nov. 26, 2014, the PCSO official said. Jovic Yee
