LTFRB suspends Dela Rosa bus franchise for crushing sedan
MANILA, Philippines – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Thursday slapped Dela Rosa Transit with preventive suspension after one of its buses crushed a sedan on Edsa.
According to the agency’s official Twitter account, LTFRB Chair Atty. Winston Ginez called for a special meeting, which approved the suspension of the bus franchise.
Aside from the preventive suspension, the LTFRB also required all drivers of the bus firm to undergo drug testing and attend road safety seminars.
A Dela Rosa bus with plate number TYM 249 hit the rear of a gray Toyota Vios with plate number YL 1942 on the northbound lane of Edsa Extension in Muñoz, Quezon City Thursday morning. The collision flattened the Vios, trapping the unnamed driver inside.
The driver of the crushed car was rescued and brought to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the driver of the bus escaped.
