6 soldiers hurt in Basilan road accident

MANILA, Philippines — Six soldiers were injured in a road accident in Basilan on Tuesday, the military said.

A M35 truck of the Marine Battalion Landing Team 11 was heading to Sumisip town from Isabela City when it fell into a ravine in Brgy. Libug in Sumisip town at about 7:20 a.m., Army’s First Infantry Division spokesman Captain Franco Suelto said.

The wounded soldiers were brought to a hospital in Isabela City for treatment, Suelto said.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of the wounded soldiers.
