ALAMINOS CITY, Philippines—An olive ridley sea turtle was released back to the sea on Thursday, two months after it was found stranded on the shores of San Fabian town in Pangasinan province on Nov. 20.

Westly Rosario, head of the National Integrated Fisheries Technology Development Center in Dagupan City, said the turtle has a better chance of survival when it is in its natural environment.

“The turtle is stressed in captivity and has a 20 percent chance of survival,” he said. It weighed 22.5 kilograms.
