‘Rude’ towing personnel hit

/ 09:51 AM May 18, 2011

EMPLOYEES of Philasia Industrial Resources Inc. complained to the Mandaue City government yesterday about alleged “rude behavior” and lapses of employees of the accredited towing company of the city—Jadewell Towing Co.

Alex Oracion, sales manager of Philasia, said towing personnel towed off vehicles parked in front of their building without issuing a receipt.

He said one Jadewell employee even challenged them to a fistfight.

Oracino said the city government and Philasia had an agreement years back authorizing Philasia employees to park in front of their building during daytime while at nighttime the clients from the adjacent Rolling Hills Funeral Parlor could park in the area.

Philasia is located along A.S. Fortuna Street, Banilad, Mandaue City.

Oracion and Virgo Bustamante, account executive of Philasia, said towing personnel just told them to get their vehicles in the impounding area at the North Reclamation Area and perhaps get a discount.

Mandaue City Legal Officer Giovanni Tianero said this was the third written complaint since January that they received against the towing company.

Tianero said he would look into the incident to see if there were violations and if there would be grounds to revoke the towing company’s contract.
