MANILA, Philippines–Pope Francis has left the Apostolic Nunciature Sunday afternoon for the Quirino Grandstand where he is set to celebrate his final Mass in the Philippines.
The gathering at Luneta Park is expected to be the biggest among his activities on the five-day visit to the Philippines and is also expected to break the record set during the previous visit of Pope John Paul II in 1995.
Pope Francis left the Apostolic Nunciature at 2:25 p.m. riding his jeepney-style popemobile.
Earlier in the day, Francis went to the University of Santo Tomas in Sampaloc, Manila where he met with students, youth leaders, representatives of the academe, and leaders of different religions.
The Holy Father is set to leave the Philippines for Rome on Monday.
