Woman killed after papal Mass in Tacloban
MANILA, Philippines—A 27-year-old woman working as a volunteer for the Pope’s Mass was killed as strong winds sent steel scaffolding crashing on to her, a spokesperson for the local church said.
Fr. Amadeo Alvero, social communications director of the Palo archdiocese, said Kristel Mae Padasa, a volunteer from the Catholic Relief Service, died from serious head injuries.
Alvero, who blessed the body, said the archdiocese would help Padasa’s family.
